Hotel Clarion, The Edge. We really enjoyed our nine days at the hotel. Our room on the seventh floor was lovely, clean and comfortable, with a huge window overlooking the harbour, bridge, and Arctic Cathedral on the other side. We could sit and watch ships, boats and small yachts coming and going all day. Location could not have been better. We were right beside the bus station and easy walking from the small boat harbour, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions. Breakfast was a feast fit for kings. Everything was laid out as a buffet. Pretty to look at, and delicious to eat. There was a variety of fish, cold meats, cheeses, vegetables, pickles, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast such as bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms. Teas, coffees and freshly baked loaves of bread with butter and jams. There was a homely relaxed feeling to the hotel. The staff were lovely. They could not have been more helpful. Everyone to whom we spoke was kind enough to stand and chat for a while. Indeed many of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel more than welcome. All in all, a great place to stay in Tromso.

A quick walk to the meeting point for all of our tours, as well as restaurants, cafes, and shops was convenient. It was also easy to access the local transportation and taking the bus was so easy to navigate. * Staff--friendly, professional, and personable. * Room--clean, comfortable, and quiet with basic amenities and a minimalist Scandinavian vibe. Beds were comfortable and bedding was warm. A kettle for tea/coffee was available. We enjoyed the view from our quiet room. It was a wonderful stay!

Location is perfect for the bus station, pier, and bars/restaurants. You're in the heart of the town, with everything a short walk away. The staff are very helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. Hotel breakfast options are exceptional; the food quality is excellent, with lots of choice. Opening times are favorable for early risers and those taking it easy. The rooms are functional but reasonably spacious. There is a cool walk-in shower available with fresh towels and soaps, shampoos, etc. The bed is really comfortable, and we slept very well.

My husband got sick and I got extra pillows, cause he took all of mine. Reception desk seems always packed and busy, but it clears up swiftly. Very good breakfasts - LOVED the variety. The hotel uses Rituals body products, which I think is fantastic. No need for extra hair conditioner, they've got the good stuff. Good hairdryer also.
