Clarion Hotel The Edge

This hotel is excellent, with room 1009 offering a great view over both the city and sea, giving the best of both worlds. My experience started really well with some very welcoming staff, and it only improved from there. It can get very busy at breakfast, but the food it worth the wait, especially the sausages. Going back to 1009, the room is very quiet, with seemingly faultless soundproofing of the walls and door, as I didn't hear anything from any of the other guests throughout my trip. The hotel is also easy to spot from pretty much all around, and is a short walk from pretty much everyone in the centre.

Hotel Clarion, The Edge. We really enjoyed our nine days at the hotel. Our room on the seventh floor was lovely, clean and comfortable, with a huge window overlooking the harbour, bridge, and Arctic Cathedral on the other side. We could sit and watch ships, boats and small yachts coming and going all day. Location could not have been better. We were right beside the bus station and easy walking from the small boat harbour, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions. Breakfast was a feast fit for kings. Everything was laid out as a buffet. Pretty to look at, and delicious to eat. There was a variety of fish, cold meats, cheeses, vegetables, pickles, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast such as bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms. Teas, coffees and freshly baked loaves of bread with butter and jams. There was a homely relaxed feeling to the hotel. The staff were lovely. They could not have been more helpful. Everyone to whom we spoke was kind enough to stand and chat for a while. Indeed many of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel more than welcome. All in all, a great place to stay in Tromso.

Excellent breakfast, quality food with great selection of different food categories - for sure something for everybody. Friendly and helpful staff at the hotel. Room was not very large but enough for comfortable stays, views were great from the room, bed was comfortable (even if pillows were very soft). Reception and arrival to this hotel was great as they nicely offered us early check-in already at around 9 a.m. as we had an early flights to town. Very central location in the center of the city, next to harbor, but station, etc.

Excellent location (probably the best in the city), and wonderful views. Breakfast was also very good, a nicely large selection of quality foods. Clean and well-designed rooms, including the bathroom.

The staff were great, both at check in and throughout our stay. The quality and range of breakfast was outstanding, and probably the best of any hotel that we have stayed at. The bathroom is in reality a wet-room with a decent shower. The hotel is centrally located, which was ideal for bus connections, excursions and for navigating around Tromso. Our room also has a nice view to the south, looking across the fjord.
